Of course, free is the cheapest domain registration you can get. But, I’m not talking about a free domain that comes with some web hosting offer, or some unknown ccTLD or a free giveaway like .BERLIN. I’m talking about a stand-alone domain registration for premium gTLDs like .COM, .NET, .ORG, .INFO, .or .CLUB.
So, which registrar has the cheapest domain registration? Here is what I have so far:
$0.89 at Domain.com. $0.89 is even cheaper than GoDaddy’s infamous $0.99 deals! This offer is good for up to 2 .COM registrations for the first year. You need to use this coupon code at checkout: 89COM
Check out Name.com every Thursday, from 3-5PM MDT. They offer .COM registrations for $0.99 during their Domain Happy Hour promo.
$0.99 at 1&1. Limit 1 per customer. This offer is good for the first year and a coupon code is not required.
$1.00 at CanvasHost. This offer works on unlimited .ORG registrations for the first year, and a coupon code is not required. This promotion ends December 31st, 2014.
$2.99 at GoDaddy. This offer is good for the first year and a coupon code is not required.
$10.99 at Name.com and Dynadot. You can register a .TV at this price for up to 10 years, but you must do it up-front. If you register it for only one year and then decide to renew, you will have to pay the full regular price for renewal.
$5 at Hover.com. This offer is good for the first year on unlimited .CLUB registrations. No coupon code required.
This list will be a work in progress as promotions are constantly changing and there are hundreds of new gTLDs. If you know of any awesome promotions, please let me know so I can add it here.
